I've been trying on Indian henna tattoos a lot lately and I'd like to know if it can be harmful to me in any way. The henna I'm using is from India and supposedly without any additives, but what I'd like to know is whether the plant itself has carcinogens. Even if it takes a certain temperature to release them, I'd like to know what they are.

I would stay away from black henna.
